Hemlock has a variety
of characteristics that allow it to be one of the
most commonly accepted wood products used today by
any business. For example, Western Hemlock's
strength-to-weight ratio lends itself well for
structural building products. In the Milling
and woodwork business, hemlock's receptiveness to
stain, paint, and varnish bode well for producing
attractive window and door products and other
furniture.
Our suppliers' diverse
hemlock sorting allow various markets to access
products designed to yield specific lumber
products manufactured for different
uses. Each sort has specifications designed
to meet certain requirements for optimal lumber
output. This is why the log
graders emphasize quality control as an
essential component for producing products of high
quality
standards.
We offer 11
different sorts of Hemlock. Each sort
has its own set of criteria, definitions, and
sample pictures to illustrate each
product.
The pictures above show the
quality and grading of the types of logs we offer
- from the highest to the lowest grade as shown in
the pictures; extreme left being highest grade and
the 4th picture (extreme right) being of lowest
grade.
The lowest grade log is used for
pulp and cheap production.
